Joining Makelab
The best way to find out more about us is to come down and see what we do. Contact us to schedule a visit at or just come and attend a meeting. Our meetings are normally scheduled for Sundays at 1PM at our space. You can also join our forum.
Membership Plans
Full Membership: $50/month
- 24 hour access to all public spaces
- Voting rights and eligibility to run for office
- All classes are free
- Use of all tools
Junior Membership: $25/month
- Access to the space whenever a full member is present
- All Classes are free
- Supervised use of tools
There is a 20% discount to members who are carrying a full college course load. Also High School students may become junior members at the rate of $15/month.
We require all new members to start off as Junior Members in order to make sure that this is the right fit for both parties. Later you can upgrade to Full Membership and enjoy the added benefits listed above. We recommend anybody that is interested to come down on a Sunday and find out more, but if you are ready you can select your level of membership below!
Makelab Charleston is actively seeking Donations and Sponsorship to help continue our growth and educational goals. If you are interested in helping our community we have many options for you to help.
Donating and Sponsorship
Monetary
Monetary contributions, along with regular member dues, help pay our rent and support our daily operations. We greatly appreciate any amount of support you want to give.
Business Sponsorship
If you are a Business that would like to sponsor Makelab Charleston, both monetary or product donations are appreciated. As we continue to build our space, tools, and parts bins, we can use as much help as possible. Some examples of product donations would be tools, computer parts, electronic components, art supplies, computers for the computer lab (both Mac & PC), Printers, etc. Advertisement plans are available.
Volunteers
If you have a skill and you are willing to volunteer your time we are very appreciative. We are eager to find individuals that are willing to teach a class. Our classes are open to both members and the general public. We are also always looking for help with services such as a graphic designer that is willing to donate time to design a flyer or t-shirt for a fundraiser or event that Makelab Charleston is promoting, entrepreneurial mentoring, legal services for setting up our non-profit, accounting, etc...

Spread the Word
Makelab Charleston is looking to spread the word about our community. We are open for new members, donations, sponsorships and volunteers. If you think you know some individuals that may be interested in joining our community, donating or volunteering please forward our information to them. If you have a website and are willing to add a link we are willing to reciprocate the link. We are working on a small website advertisement that we will have available shortly if you are willing to place our ad on your website as well.
